Positional Overview

The Imagine Group is recruiting for an Electrical Engineer on behalf of our client, A leading engineering and design firm specializing in innovative solutions for industrial and manufacturing applications, providing technical expertise in electrical engineering, system design, and process optimization. The organization is committed to delivering customized engineering solutions that improve operational efficiency, enhance equipment performance, and meet clients’ evolving technical and production needs.

In this role you will be responsible for designing utility-scale, commercial and residential solar PV and battery storage systems from concept through construction. They will prepare and check one-line diagrams and other electrical design packages, size equipment, and make sure every project meets code and interconnection requirements.

Role & Responsibility:

• Prepare single-line (one-line) diagrams for solar PV and energy storage projects, showing modules, strings, combiners, inverters, transformers, switchgear, protective devices, metering, and the point of interconnection.
• Check one-line diagrams prepared by other engineers and designers for accuracy, code compliance, and consistency with the plan set, and return clear redlines.
• Prepare three-line diagrams, site plans, conduct and cable schedules, wiring diagrams, and equipment layouts.
• Keep drawings current through design revisions, utility comments, and as-built updates.
• Electrical design and analysis.
• Size conductors, overcurrent protection, disconnects, and grounding per NEC Article 690, 705, 706, and 250.
• Perform voltage drop, short-circuit, load flow, and arc-flash calculations.
• Select and specify inverters, transformers, switchgear, and balance-of-system equipment.
• Coordinate protective devices and grounding for both DC and AC systems.
• Permitting, interconnection, and construction support.
• Prepare electrical packages for permit and utility interconnection applications and respond to AHJ and utility review comments.
• Review contractor submittals and RFIs during construction.
• Support commissioning and site inspections as needed.
• Stamp drawings as Engineer of Record where licensed.

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
• 3+ years of electrical design experience, with at least 2 years on solar PV projects
• Proven ability to prepare and check one-line diagrams for solar projects
• Working knowledge of the NEC, especially Articles 690, 705, and 706
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or a similar CAD tool
• Understanding of utility interconnection requirements and IEEE 1547
• Strong attention to detail and clear written communication
