Electronics / Mechatronics Design Engineer - Heating & Burner Components

We are looking for an experienced Electronics or Mechatronics Design Engineer to support the maintenance and continued development of an established product portfolio of oil burner components, within the heating industry in Southern Denmark.

The work focuses on sustaining existing designs: securing component supply, resolving design-related customer issues, and reducing product cost. The role is hands-on and on-site, with direct access to production, all functions and laboratory equipment. Start as soon as possible, full-time or part-time.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and validate replacements for electronic and other components approaching obsolescence
• Support and solve customer complaints related to product design
• Run design cost-down projects and tasks
• Maintain and further develop an existing electronic ignition unit and an oil preheater design

Requirements (must have)

• Several years of experience as an Electronics or Mechatronics Design Engineer with series-produced products
• Solid knowledge of electronics and PCBA, including component selection and replacement
• Experience maintaining and improving existing product designs (sustaining engineering)
• Documented experience identifying, qualifying and validating alternative components in obsolescence situations
• Experience with root cause analysis and resolving customer complaints that may be design related
• Experience running design-to-cost or cost-down projects
• Hands-on experience with testing and validation in a laboratory and production environment
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of a design with limited supervision
• Ability to work on-site in the Sønderborg/Als area
• Professional proficiency in English

Nice to have

• Experience with oil or gas burners, or other heating and combustion products
• Knowledge of high-voltage, ignition or electric heating technologies
• Knowledge of CE, EMC and LVD requirements
• Experience with CAD, PLM and ERP systems
• Experience taking over designs from previous owners and working with legacy documentation
