Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with a minimum of 10+ years of experience in power distribution, industrial facilities, infrastructure projects, and utility-related works. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of TAQA/utility authority requirements and experience in MV/LV electrical systems, project execution, testing, and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, review, and supervise the installation of MV/LV electrical systems, including 11kV/33kV networks, transformers, switchgear, and power distribution systems.
• Prepare and review electrical shop drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), load calculations, and technical submittals.
• Coordinate with TAQA and relevant utility authorities for technical approvals, inspections, and energization.
• Manage electrical project execution, site supervision, testing, commissioning, and final handover.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely project completion.
• Review material specifications, technical submissions, and procurement requirements.
• Ensure compliance with TAQA, ADDC/ADWEA, IEC, and applicable local authority standards.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and oversee maintenance planning and system upgrades.
• Monitor project progress, quality, safety, and compliance with approved specifications.
• Maintain project documentation, inspection records, test reports, and commissioning documents.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, utility, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience with TAQA or other UAE utility authority requirements.
• Strong knowledge of MV/LV distribution systems, substations, transformers, and switchgear.
• Experience in electrical design, site execution, testing, and commissioning.
• Familiarity with electrical standards, authority approvals, and project handover procedures.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP, and electrical power system studies.
• Strong project management, coordination, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Certifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP).
• UPDA/PE registration or equivalent professional registration, where applicable.
• NEBOSH or equivalent safety certification.
• Relevant electrical engineering authority approvals, where applicable.

Preferred Project Experience

• Industrial plants and substations.
• Utility interface and power distribution projects.
• Transformer and switchgear installation and commissioning.
• HV/MV/LV network modifications, upgrades, and infrastructure development.
