Electrical Engineer - Contract

Contract Electronics Engineer – Motor Drives | Greater Boston, MA | 6 Months | $100 - $125/hr W-2

A fast-growing MedTech company is taking its product into detailed design, and needs an experienced electronics engineer to design real hardware from day one. This is a hands-on role with board-level design, a working lab, and work that moves towards clinical use.

The contract

• Rate: $100 - $125/hr, depending on experience
• Duration: 6 months, likely to extend
• Location: On-site 30 minutes South of central Boston
• Start: ASAP
• Process: 45-60 minute screening call, 2 hour on-site interview.

You’ll be a great fit if you have:

✅ Designed motor drives at board level (BLDC, servo, stepper or three-phase)

✅ Strong schematic capture, PCB design, bring-up and lab debug

✅ Power electronics and power management design experience

✅ Worked with RS-485, CAN bus and/or EtherCAT

✅ Analogue and sensor front-end design experience

✅ 8+ years in electronics, comfortable owning subsystems with minimal direction.

Bonus points for: medical devices or regulated products, robotics, EMC compliance.

What you’ll do: design motor drive, power and control boards; build and debug prototypes; support integration and EMC troubleshooting; and guide engineers and technicians.
