About Our Client

Our client is a leading global digital infrastructure and hyperscale data centre provider. They are a trusted partner to the world’s most innovative companies, designing, developing, and operating sustainable digital infrastructure at scale. Backed by an unmatched record of reliable delivery and technical expertise, they bring speed, certainty, and sustainability to the rapidly evolving global digital landscape.

Role Summary

As a Data Centre Solutions Engineer (Electrical), you will play a pivotal role in shaping resilient, scalable, and energy efficient critical power solutions for some of the world's largest digital platforms.

You will act as a trusted technical partner to hyperscale and strategic clients, translating their complex requirements into actionable engineering direction while safeguarding design intent and operational standards throughout the project lifecycle from early stage Basis of Design (BoD) through to construction, commissioning, and handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Partnership & Technical Leadership: Act as the primary Solutions Engineering partner for hyperscale clients, translating technical, operational, and business requirements into clear engineering briefs and design criteria.
  • Workshop & Review Facilitation: Lead client and internal technical workshops, design intent sessions, and multidisciplinary engineering reviews, effectively communicating complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Electrical System Expertise: Provide technical authority across critical power infrastructure, including MV/LV distribution, UPS systems, standby generators, switchgear, transformers, STS/ATS, busbar systems, earthing, and power monitoring (EPMS).
  • Technical Assurance & Risk Management: Review load analysis, protection coordination, arc flash studies, resilience strategies, calculations, and proposed deviations to ensure high availability, safety, and compliance with design intent.
  • Multidisciplinary Coordination: Work closely with Development, Design Engineering, Delivery, and Operations teams to ensure seamless integration between electrical, mechanical, CSA, BMS/EPMS, fire protection, security, and ICT systems.
  • Lifecycle Support & Commissioning: Support testing and commissioning phases, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), energisation planning, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
  • Continuous Improvement: Capture client feedback and lessons learned to continuously refine company reference designs, technical standards, and client-facing solutions.

What You’ll Bring

  • Industry Experience: Proven electrical engineering background within hyperscale data centres, mission-critical facilities, or highly complex infrastructure environments across RIBA Stages 2–5 (or equivalent lifecycle models).
  • Review & Delivery Skills: Strong experience reviewing Basis of Design (BoD) documents, technical specifications, design submissions, and engineering change requests.
  • Commissioning Familiarity: Experience supporting or participating in FAT, SAT, commissioning, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST) activities is highly desirable.
  • Stakeholder Management: Exceptional client-facing skills with the ability to lead workshops, challenge constructively, and clearly articulate engineering decisions.
  • Qualifications: Degree, HND/HNC, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Professional chartership/accreditation is considered an advantage.
  • Languages & Mobility: Fluent written and spoken English language skills.
