Electrical Engineer (Design)

About the role

Design and deliver high-quality Solar PV electrical engineering solutions for Greenergy Thailand's EPC projects. Responsible for all electrical system design, calculations, documentation, and technical support throughout the project lifecycle from proposal to commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Design complete Solar PV electrical systems including string sizing, inverter selection, DC/AC cabling, protection devices, and grid connection
• Prepare single-line diagrams (SLD), protection coordination studies, cable sizing calculations, and equipment schedules
• Conduct energy yield simulations using PVsyst software and validate against site shading analysis, irradiance data, and module degradation models
• Ensure all electrical designs comply with IEC 62109, IEC 62446, IEC 60364, TIS 2030, and EGAT/PEA connection requirements
• Prepare and issue engineering drawings including SLDs, cable layout plans, protection relay settings, and earthing/lightning protection designs
• Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements from subcontractors
• Maintain engineering document control ensuring all drawing revisions are tracked and distributed to the correct stakeholders
• Provide on-site electrical engineering support during construction to resolve technical queries and ensure design intent is followed
• Conduct electrical pre-commissioning inspections including insulation resistance tests, continuity checks, and protection relay testing
• Support commissioning activities including power-on sequence, inverter commissioning, and grid connection approval process with EGAT/PEA

About you

• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Energy Engineering
• 2–5 years in Solar PV electrical design or EPC engineering
• Thai: Excellent | English: Technical reading and writing (TOEIC 500+)
• Proficiency in PVsyst, AutoCAD (Electrical), MS Excel
• Knowledge of IEC 62109/62446/60364, EGAT/PEA standards, protection relay settings
• Licensed Professional Engineer (Kor.Wor.) — Electrical Level preferred or in process
• Competent in full Solar PV electrical system design from string sizing to grid connection
• Ability to produce accurate energy yield simulations and validate against performance data
• Ability to prepare accurate, code-compliant engineering drawings and calculations
• Ability to resolve technical design issues and construction challenges effectively
