Electrical Engineer- Engineering & Plant Modification

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering & Plant Modification team. In this role, you will handle fundamental electrical engineering design work, support bidding and project execution for electrical systems across our power plants, and work closely with contractors and customers to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform electrical engineering design work including Single Line Diagrams (SLD), circuit breaker specification, busbar rating, short circuit level calculation, basic relay protection setting, and cable ampacity calculation.
• Prepare bidding packages (TOR) for electrical projects across all plants, for both internal delivery and external customers.
• Assist the Project Manager in execution and improvement projects across all plants.
• Manage and clarify power system design explanations (LV/MV/HV) and corrections to SLDs.
• Re-calculate power system parameters for any Management of Change (MOC).
• Provide advisory support on electrical system improvements and flag associated risks.
• Monitor project execution to ensure timely completion within schedule and budget, taking action when required.
• Closely supervise contractors during design and construction phases to ensure work performance and quality meet requirements.
• Monitor contractor safety performance and ensure compliance with safety procedures and requirements.
• Hand over completed projects to GPSC's O&M team by the targeted date, including following up with contractors on training, as-built documentation, and operation & maintenance manuals.
• Maintain good working relationships with existing and potential customers, contractors, and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with GPSC Group's Security, Safety, Occupational Health, and Environment policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Power),  Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering will be advantageous.
• At least 3 years of experience in a power plant or related field.
• Solid knowledge of electrical equipment.
• Experience in electrical engineering consulting, design, or technical support.
• Experience working with contractors and customers.
• Strong problem-solving experience.
• Professional Engineer License in Electrical Engineering (Power) is required.
• TOEIC 550

Required Skills

• Basic application of power system design software such as ETAP, DIgSILENT, or CYMCAP.
• Basic proficiency with drawing programs such as Visio, AutoCAD, or SketchUp.
