Electrical Engineer / LEW

Job Summary

The Project Engineer (Electrical) is responsible for the preparation of shop drawing, materials submission, planning, coordination, supervision, testing, commissioning, and delivery of electrical works for Built environment. The role requires knowledge of electrical design, installation requirements, Singapore Codes of Practice, Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) requirements, project management and coordination to ensure successful project delivery. Candidates with strong experience may be considered for Senior Project Engineer roles.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, coordinate, and supervise electrical works from development through project completion.
• Review electrical drawings, shop drawings, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), technical submissions, and material specifications.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, REs, and RTOs on project and technical matters.
• Monitor project progress and ensure works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and statutory requirements.
• Supervise installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and handover of LV/MV electrical systems.
• Ensure compliance with Singapore Codes of Practice, BCA, SCDF, WSH regulations, relevant regulations, and project specifications.
• Prepare project documentation including method statements, inspection records, testing and commissioning reports, and as-built drawings.
• Support procurement, project planning, scheduling, and resource management.
• Assist in contract administration, variation works, progress claims, and cost control activities.
• Promote and enforce Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) requirements and maintain a safe working environment.
• Support design coordination, clash detection, and multidisciplinary coordination using BIM, AutoCAD, Revit, or Navisworks where applicable.
• Undertake any other duties assigned by the Project Manager or Project Director.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) certification is an advantage.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in electrical installation, testing, commissioning, or project execution within the built environment sector.
• Knowledge of electrical installation and design requirements.
• Good knowledge of Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) Act and safety requirements
• Familiar with Singapore regulations, standards, codes of practice, and authority requirements (BCA, SCDF, etc.).
• Knowledge of LV/MV electrical systems and power distribution, testing and commissioning
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications.
• Good coordination, communication, coordinate stakeholders, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced project environment
• Basic understanding of contract administration, variation orders, claims, and project cost control.
• Experience with BIM, AutoCAD, or Revit will be an advantage.
