Role Overview The Electrical Engineer – LV owns the design and development of electrical systems for data centers — power distribution, grounding, lighting, and standby power — from concept through IFC to as-built, working with a moderate degree of independence using EPLAN, Revit, ETAP, and DIALux.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical systems for data centers (power distribution, grounding, lighting, standby power) with limited oversight.
  • Create and manage single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and panel schedules using EPLAN and Revit.
  • Perform power system analysis (short circuit, load flow, arc flash, protection coordination) using ETAP.
  • Develop lighting and emergency lighting designs using DIALux.
  • Coordinate directly with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, civil, architectural) to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
  • Participate in design reviews and support compliance with international standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA 70E), including review of junior engineers' output.
  • Prepare design documentation, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
  • Support client and vendor interaction on technical matters, and respond to RFIs during construction phases.
  • Ensure compliance with local electrical codes and global data center design standards.

Required Skills And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Proficient in ETAP, EPLAN, Revit, and DIALux.
  • 5–10 years of electrical engineering experience, including exposure to data center or mission-critical infrastructure design.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEC, IEEE, NFPA 70E).
  • Familiarity with Tier classifications (Uptime Institute) and redundancy concepts (N, N+1, 2N).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, Navisworks, plus ETAP, Simaris (Siemens), Ecodial (Schneider Electric), or SKM PowerTools for protection/coordination and arc flash studies.
  • Experience in mission-critical environments (data centers, telecom, hospitals, etc.).
  • Exposure to HV/MV substations, switchgear layouts, and BMS integration.
  • Knowledge of digital twin concepts or energy monitoring systems is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in English (mandatory); Portuguese and other languages are an advantage.

What We Offer Competitive salary package aligned with your professional experience, health insurance, opportunity for professional growth and development, continuous training and learning opportunities, and a dynamic, professional, and collaborative work environment in Porto, with a diverse and inclusive team that values innovation and excellence.
