Electrical Engineer – Maintenance & Facility Management

Job Summary:

Responsible for maintaining electrical systems, equipment, and facilities across food production areas, kitchens, warehouses, outlets, offices, and staff accommodation. Ensure safe and reliable operations through preventive maintenance, timely repairs, and effective coordination with internal teams and service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical panels, distribution boards, wiring, lighting, sockets, and power systems.
• Respond to breakdowns, identify causes, and complete corrective actions to minimise operational downtime.
• Prepare and implement preventive maintenance schedules for equipment and facilities**.**
• Maintain electrical components of kitchen equipment, chillers, freezers, HVAC systems, pumps, and other machinery within technical competence.
• Coordinate general facility maintenance, including air conditioning, plumbing, drainage, building repairs, and accommodation requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections and promptly address electrical hazards, equipment defects, and facility issues.
• Coordinate with department heads to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption to production and daily operations**.**
• Supervise contractors and technicians, verify completed work, and maintain service records.
• Provide electrical and facility support for markets, events, kiosks, and temporary installations.
• Monitor maintenance materials and spare parts, and coordinate purchases with Procurement.
• Track maintenance expenses, review repair quotations, and recommend equipment repairs or replacements**.**
• Maintain breakdown logs, inspection reports, preventive maintenance records, and pendingwork updates.
• Follow electrical safety procedures, including safe isolation, and maintain hygiene when working in food handling areas**.**
• Report major risks, recurring failures, and urgent maintenance requirements to management.

Qualification & Experience:

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a relevant technical qualification.
• Experience in electrical maintenance and facility management, preferably in food production, hospitality, retail, or F&B operations.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and troubleshoot equipment faults.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and general building maintenance.
• Strong planning, reporting, contractor coordination, and problem-solving skills.
