Electrical Engineer — Panel Design

About the role

Vireon is building the power distribution hardware and industrial intelligence platform that enables factories to operate in a safe, efficient and reliable manner by combining IoT hardware, edge computing and data science. We design and manufacture the LT panels, APFC banks and busbar trunking that form the backbone of Indian industrial electrical distribution — and increasingly, the PCS panels that interface battery storage and solar assets with the grid. This is a hands-on role: you'll own panel and power-electronics design from single-line diagram to a certified, field-ready product.

What you'll work on

• Design LT distribution panels, APFC panels and PCS panels for industrial and BESS/solar-interactive applications.
• Perform protection coordination studies: relay and breaker selection, discrimination/selectivity studies, short-circuit and fault-current calculations.
• Design capacitor bank sizing, detuned reactor selection and resonance-risk analysis for APFC installations.
• Design power electronics interfaces for PCS panels: converter/IGBT selection, gate-drive and protection circuitry, and thermal management for switching devices.
• Own busbar and busbar-trunking (BBT) design: current rating, thermal rise, short-circuit withstand and bolted-joint design.
• Conduct EMI/EMC design and simulation for panel-integrated power electronics, targeting CE/FCC/BIS compliance.
• Prepare and review panel general arrangement drawings, single-line diagrams and schematics per IEC 61439 (or equivalent) type-test requirements.
• Select and specify switchgear — ACBs, MCCBs, contactors and protection relays — and coordinate with vendors on ratings and lead times.
• Support integration of Cortex sensing hardware (CTs, Rogowski coils, thermal sensors) into panel and BBT designs during manufacture.
• Work with contract manufacturers and the factory floor on panel assembly, wiring standards and quality/test procedures (routine and type tests).
• Debug and troubleshoot panel issues across prototyping, commissioning and field deployment.

Must have

• 3+ years in LT/MV panel design, switchgear or power electronics for industrial applications.
• Solid understanding of protection coordination: relay settings, breaker discrimination, and fault-current/short-circuit analysis.
• APFC panel design experience: capacitor bank sizing, tuned/detuned reactor selection, resonance and harmonic considerations.
• Working knowledge of power electronics fundamentals: converters, inverters, IGBT/MOSFET switching and thermal design.
• Practical EMI/EMC design experience and simulation tools (ANSYS, CST or similar) for compliance (CE, FCC, BIS).
• Proficiency with electrical design/drafting tools — AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN or similar.
• Familiarity with IEC 61439 (LV switchgear assemblies), IEC 60831 (capacitors) and IEEE 519 (harmonics).

Good to have

• PCS panels for BESS, solar or other grid-interactive applications.
• Busbar trunking (BBT) design and manufactured-in sensor integration.
• Real-time control and protection for grid-interactive systems — islanding detection, anti-hunt logic, fail-safe interlocks.
• Taking a panel or power-electronics product through formal type-test or regulatory certification.
• Industrial communication protocols (Modbus, OPC UA) for panel-integrated monitoring and control.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
