1. Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Plant Maintenance Electrical Engineer to maintain, troubleshoot, and ensure the smooth operation of electrical systems, industrial machinery, and plant utilities. The candidate will be responsible for preventive and breakdown maintenance, electrical safety, and minimizing machine downtime.
2. Key Responsibilities

1. Carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment and industrial machinery.
2. Troubleshoot electrical faults in motors, control panels, MCC panels, distribution boards, and power circuits.
3. Maintain PLC-based systems, VFDs, soft starters, sensors, relays, contactors, and other automation components.
4. Monitor and maintain compressors, pumps, generators, transformers, and other plant utility equipment, as applicable.
5. Inspect electrical wiring, earthing systems, cable connections, circuit breakers, and protection devices.
6. Prepare and maintain preventive maintenance schedules, breakdown reports, and equipment maintenance records.
7. Identify the root cause of recurring electrical failures and implement corrective actions.
8. Coordinate with production teams to minimize equipment downtime and ensure uninterrupted plant operations.
9. Supervise electrical technicians and electricians during maintenance and repair activities.
10. Ensure compliance with electrical safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and applicable statutory requirements.
11. Maintain critical electrical spares and coordinate with the purchase department for procurement.
12. Support installation, commissioning, and modification of new machinery and electrical systems.
13. Monitor energy consumption and suggest improvements in electrical efficiency.

3. Required Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and power distribution.
• Experience in motor control circuits, MCC panels, control panels, and electrical drawings.
• Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, sensors, relays, and industrial automation.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance planning and fault analysis.
• Familiarity with electrical testing instruments such as multimeters, clamp meters, and insulation resistance testers.
• Knowledge of electrical safety, earthing, and protection systems.
• Basic computer skills, including MS Excel and maintenance reporting.

4. Qualification & Experience

• Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
• 3-6 years of experience in electrical maintenance in a manufacturing plant.
• Experience in industrial machinery maintenance, control panels, and motor troubleshooting is preferred.
• Ability to work in shifts and attend emergency breakdowns when required.
