Electrical Engineer (Project-Based) — Scan-to-Light System

Overview
We need a proficient electrical engineer to help complete a scan-to-light system. This is an advisory, hands-on guidance role: helping us select the right components and showing how to connect the system so it works reliably end to end.

What We Need Help With

• Advising on component selection and procurement
• Validating component choices before purchase
• Guiding wiring/connections for a complete, working setup
• Troubleshooting during assembly and testing

Level of Expertise
A proficient electrical engineer. Students welcome, provided you can give confident, high-level guidance and validate decisions independently.

Design Constraints

• Compact — must fit within limited space
• Energy-efficient — runs continuously, so low power draw matters
• Practical and cost-effective — functional without over-engineering

What Success Looks Like

• A complete bill of materials with clear reasoning for each component choice
• A working, tested system that meets the compact, energy-efficient, and cost-effective constraints
• Clear documentation or guidance (even informal) on wiring/connections, so the system can be maintained or modified later without needing to re-engineer from scratch

Location
Remote-friendly for advisory work. Testing/trial must be on-site at our warehouse, where the system will be implemented.

Remuneration
SGD 800 for the full project.

Timeline

Fixed deadline: 3 weeks from start date, covering selection, procurement guidance, wiring guidance, and on-site testing. May be extended for factors outside your control (e.g., component shipping/lead times, delayed access to the warehouse for testing, delays in approvals/purchases, etc.). Any extension will be discussed and agreed on a case-by-case basis.

Engagement
Project-based. Goal is a fully completed, working system.
