Electrical Engineer (Project-based/Consultant)

Job Overview

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for reviewing the electrical design of solar power projects, ensuring compliance with grid requirements, transmission standards, and project specifications. The role includes evaluating power system integration, transmission facilities, and coordination with utility and regulatory stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Review and assess electrical designs for utility-scale solar projects.
• Evaluate and review transmission line and grid interconnection designs.
• Review electrical single-line diagrams, protection systems, and power distribution layouts.
• Assess project compliance with NGCP requirements and industry standards.
• Conduct technical reviews of power system studies and energy yield assessments.
• Review PV system performance modeling and generation estimates using PVsyst.
• Coordinate with developers, designers, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Provide design review comments and recommendations to improve project reliability and efficiency.
• Support technical discussions related to grid connection and power system integration.
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards, and utility requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Licensed Electrical Engineer is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
• Experience in solar, renewable energy, power generation, transmission, or grid interconnection projects.
• Working knowledge of NGCP requirements and utility-scale renewable energy projects.
• Experience in transmission line and grid connection design review.
• Proficiency in PVsyst and relevant power system engineering tools.
• Strong technical writing, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Willing to work on a project-based or consultancy arrangement.
• For consultant-based engagements, ability to issue a Service Invoice and/or Official Receipt (OR) is preferred.
