Electrical Engineer - Project Construction

A well-established Singapore-based M&E engineering contractor specialising in ACMV, mechanical and electrical engineering solutions for major commercial, industrial, institutional and infrastructure projects, offering strong project exposure and long-term career stability.

Job Summary

We are seeking an Electrical Project Engineer / Site Engineer to oversee electrical and ELV site activities, coordinate subcontractors and ensure installation, testing and commissioning works are completed safely, efficiently and according to project specifications.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret electrical and ELV schematic drawings, technical specifications and project documents.
• Coordinate and liaise with subcontractors to ensure the smooth and timely execution of electrical site works.
• Review contract requirements and prepare supporting documentation for Variation Orders (VOs) where necessary.
• Carry out engineering design work, including electrical load and fault level calculations.
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues arising during installation, testing and commissioning.
• Ensure all installation works are carried out in accordance with approved shop drawings, method statements, project specifications and relevant industry standards.
• Attend regular site and project meetings with clients, consultants and subcontractors to coordinate works and address project-related issues.
• Monitor site progress and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure project schedules and key milestones are met.
• Support the Project, Site or Construction Manager in overseeing project progress and resolving operational or technical issues on site.
• Ensure effective coordination between electrical installations and other M&E trades to minimise clashes and delays.
• Support testing, commissioning and handover activities to ensure systems are completed according to project requirements.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and provide regular updates on work progress and site matters.

Requirements

• Minimum Nitec in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in electrical project or site coordination, preferably within commercial, industrial or infrastructure projects.
• Good knowledge of electrical and ELV systems, including installation, testing and commissioning processes.
• Able to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical specifications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Good problem-solving, organisational and project coordination abilities.
• Proactive, hands-on and able to work independently as well as effectively in a team environment.
