What they need
Raptor Dynamix is seeking a talented, driven and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our space systems development team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and testing high-reliability satellite avionics and electrical systems. You will work across the entire hardware lifecycle—from initial concept and circuit design through simulation, PCB layout, and environmental qualification. If you want to build hardware that operates in the harshest environments and pushes the boundaries of space exploration, we want you on our team.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 2–5+ years of experience in hardware development (aerospace, defense, or high-reliability automotive/medical fields preferred).
- Strong foundation in PCB design, circuit analysis, and hands-on laboratory experience using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and multi-meters.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously across teams and company to drive multi- disciplinary projects to completion.
- U.S. citizenship required due to federal security clearance eligibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering.
- Familiarity with space-radiation environments, single-event effects (SEE), and componentselection guidelines (NASA or ESA standards).
- Basic proficiency in Python, C/C++, or FPGA design (VHDL/Verilog) for automated testing or embedded control.
- Prior experience with satellite power architectures (Solar arrays, MPPT, Battery Management Systems) or RF communication systems.
- Experience in space industry
Essential Job Duties
- The ideal candidate is capable, motivated, and willing to learn and grow as the position evolves. As a Electrical Engineer – Satellite Systems, you must be able to:
- Hardware Design: Design and analyze analog, digital, power supply, and mixed-signal circuits for core satellite subsystems (e.g., flight computers, power distribution units, payload electronics).
- Schematic & Layout: Create electrical schematics, select space-qualified components, define PCB layout constraints, and participate in strict design reviews.
- Simulation & Modeling: Utilize tools like SPICE and MATLAB to perform circuit simulations, worst-case circuit analysis (WCCA), and signal/power integrity modeling.
- Testing & Bring-Up: Lead laboratory board bring-up, debugging, and initial hardware verification.
- Environmental Qualification: Support Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AI&T) environments, including Thermal Vacuum (TVAC), vibration, and Electromagnetic Interference/Compatibility (EMI/EMC) testing.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with mechanical, thermal, systems, and software teams to guarantee seamless spacecraft integration.
