  • Perform and review engineering calculations including short circuit ratings, bus sizing, load calculations, voltage drop and CT/PT sizing.
  • Specify and select protective devices, relays, breakers, starters, transformers and metering to meet customer requirements and applicable standards.
  • Develop and review protection and control schemes, including relay settings support, interlocking, transfer schemes and breaker control.
  • Review customer specifications and one-lines to confirm equipment ratings and compliance with IEEE, ANSI, UL, NEMA and NEC requirements.
  • Provide engineering oversight and sign-off on schematics, wiring diagrams and engineering release packages.
  • Support factory acceptance testing (FAT), troubleshoot test issues and provide technical disposition
  • Act as a technical point of contact for customers, vendors and internal teams on complex or non-standard electrical requirements.
  • Contribute to engineering standards, design guidelines and continuous improvement across the engineering function.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Power Engineering.
  • 3+ years of electrical engineering experience with power distribution equipment, switchgear, MCCs or industrial power systems.
  • Strong knowledge of power system fundamentals, including fault current, protection philosophy, grounding and equipment ratings.
  • Experience with medium-voltage metal-clad switchgear, LV switchgear, MVMCCs or LVMCCs is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, UL, NEMA and NEC standards.
  • Experience with protective relays and power system analysis software is advantageous.
  • EIT certification required; PE licence or progress towards PE is a strong advantage.
  • Experience supporting factory testing or field commissioning of power distribution equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.

There is a genuine opportunity for someone to join a growing team and business. Great pipeline of projects and a high performing, yet flexible, working environment. If you want to work in a project-centric; growing business with a rich history in the Houston area- we look forward to hearing from you.
