Electrical Engineer- Testing

The Testing Engineer will be responsible for carrying out electrical testing and inspection related to lightning protection systems, earthing systems, and electrical installations to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. The role involves conducting testing such as continuity checks, fault loop impedance tests, earthing resistance measurements, and electrical panel testing to verify the safety and reliability of installations before commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct continuity testing of lightning protection conductors, bonding systems, and electrical circuits to ensure proper connectivity.
• Perform fault loop impedance testing to verify effective grounding and protection against electrical faults.
• Carry out earthing system testing , including earth resistance measurement for earthing pits, grid earthing, and lightning protection systems.
• Perform panel testing and functional verification of electrical panels, distribution boards, and control panels.
• Conduct insulation resistance tests, polarity tests, and circuit verification for electrical installations.
• Verify the proper installation and connectivity of lightning protection components such as air terminals, down conductors, and earth electrodes .
• Assist in site testing and commissioning of lightning protection and electrical safety systems.
• Identify installation defects or non-compliance issues and coordinate with the site team for corrective action.
• Maintain test reports, inspection records, and documentation required for client submission and project handover.
• Ensure testing activities comply with relevant electrical safety standards and project specifications .
• Ensure proper usage and calibration of testing instruments such as earth testers, insulation testers (megger), clamp meters, and multimeters .
• Support preparation of testing reports, site inspection reports, and commissioning documentation for clients and consultants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Strong problem solving, technical, math and science skills
• Strong written and verbal communication
