Electrician – Job Description (JD) Electrical Engineer

Job Purpose:

To ensure safe and reliable operation of all electrical systems, machines, panels and electrical equipment in the plant.

Key Responsibilities:

1)Attend electrical breakdowns of machines and equipment.

2)Carry out preventive and corrective electrical maintenance.

3)Troubleshoot motors, starters, contactors, relays, sensors and control circuits.

4)Check and maintain electrical panels, MCC, DBs and control panels.

5)Carry out cable laying, termination and electrical connections.

6)Check motor current, voltage, insulation and other electrical parameters.

7)Maintain and troubleshoot starters and basic PLC-related electrical faults.

8)Maintain industrial lighting, switches, sockets and other electrical installations.

9)Check and maintain earthing systems and electrical safety devices.

10)Assist in installation, shifting and commissioning of new machines.

11)Maintain DG set, compressor and other plant electrical systems as required.

12)Attend emergency breakdowns and minimize machine downtime.

13. Maintain electrical maintenance records and report major faults/spare requirements.

Follow all electrical safety procedures.

Ensure proper housekeeping in electrical rooms and around electrical panels.

Required Skills:

Good knowledge of industrial electrical maintenance.

Knowledge of 3-phase motors, starters, contactors, relays and control circuits.

Basic knowledge of VFD, PLC, sensors and automation systems.

Ability to read electrical drawings.

Knowledge of electrical testing instruments such as multimeter and clamp meter.

Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work in shifts and attend emergency breakdowns.

Qualification & Experience:

ITI Electrician / Electrical qualification preferred.

Relevant industrial electrical maintenance experience preferred.

Manufacturing/engineering plant experience will be an advantage.

Pay: ₹450,000.00 - ₹550,000.00 per year
