THE OPPORTUNITY
Fruition Group is partnering with a growing US aerospace and defense technology company developing and manufacturing mission-critical electrical hardware for military and commercial aerospace applications.
We're looking for a hands-on Electrical Design Engineer to take ownership of electrical hardware development from initial concept through prototyping, testing, flight qualification, and production.
This is an opportunity for an engineer who enjoys designing real hardware, solving challenging technical problems, and seeing their work progress from schematic design to fully manufactured products.
You'll work across a broad range of electrical and electronic systems, including power circuitry, filtering, analog and digital electronics, PCB/PCBA development, and flight-critical hardware .
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the electrical design and development of aerospace hardware from concept through production.
- Develop electrical schematics, perform circuit analysis, select components, and support PCB/PCBA layout.
- Design and develop electronic systems involving power, filtering, control, and digital circuitry.
- Build, bring up, debug, and validate early-stage hardware prototypes.
- Perform hands-on bench testing using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and other laboratory equipment.
- Collaborate with test engineers to develop and execute functional, environmental, and qualification test plans.
- Work closely with mechanical, manufacturing, and production engineering teams to ensure designs are reliable and manufacturable.
- Support design-for-manufacturing (DFM) activities and implement improvements based on production feedback.
- Maintain engineering documentation, bills of materials (BOMs), drawing revisions, and configuration controls.
- Optimize electrical designs for reliability, performance, manufacturability, and cost.
- Support junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Professional experience designing and developing electrical or electronic hardware.
- Strong experience with electrical schematic design, component selection, circuit analysis, and simulation.
- Understanding of analog and digital electronics, power circuitry, and electronic filtering.
- Experience with PCB/PCBA design and hardware development.
- Proven ability to prototype, debug, troubleshoot, and validate electronic hardware.
- Confident using laboratory test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers.
- Experience taking electrical designs through multiple stages of the product development lifecycle.
- Ability to work independently, solve complex engineering problems, and take ownership of technical deliverables.
- Strong practical engineering mindset with an interest in hands-on hardware development.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
- Aerospace, defense, avionics, or other high-reliability electronic hardware.
- Familiarity with DO-160, MIL-STD, or similar qualification standards.
- Experience supporting environmental and functional qualification testing.
- Exposure to power electronics, embedded hardware, firmware interfaces, or electronic control systems.
- Experience working with manufacturing teams to transition prototypes into production.
WHY CONSIDER THIS OPPORTUNITY?
- Competitive base salary of $105,000 – $135,000.
- Work on mission-critical electronics supporting aerospace and defense applications.
- Full ownership of hardware development from concept to production.
- Exposure to a variety of electrical and electronic technologies.
- Hands-on engineering environment with an emphasis on innovation, speed, and practical problem-solving.
- Opportunity to contribute to a growing engineering team developing aerospace hardware.
ELIGIBILITY
This position requires eligibility as a US person under ITAR regulations, including US citizens, lawful permanent residents, and qualifying protected individuals.
