SUMMARY

The Engineering Specialist, Electrical is a hands-on technical role responsible for executing electrical assembly, wiring, and test activities for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). This role builds on foundational electrical skills and expands into more complex harness builds, subsystem integration, electrical troubleshooting, and execution of electrical test procedures with minimal supervision.

The Electrical Specialist II supports prototype development, test articles, and low-rate production hardware, identifies and resolves routine electrical issues, and partners with engineers to improve build quality, reliability, and electrical integration processes. This role represents a fully contributing technical specialist progressing toward senior-level electrical authority.

  • Build and install electrical assemblies, wire harnesses, and cable assemblies for UAS platforms.
  • Perform electrical integration activities, including routing, securing, and terminating wiring within airframes and subsystems.
  • Execute electrical test procedures independently, including continuity checks, insulation resistance tests, and power-on verification.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve routine electrical issues such as wiring errors, connector faults, grounding problems, or intermittent signals.
  • Support board-level bring-up activities under engineering guidance.
  • Read, interpret, and apply electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation.
  • Perform rework, modifications, and repairs on electrical assemblies in accordance with procedures.
  • Document build steps, test results, discrepancies, and corrective actions.

  • Demonstrated experience building wire harnesses and performing electrical integration with limited supervision.
  • Solid understanding of electrical principles, wiring standards, and grounding practices.
  • Proficiency reading and applying electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience using test equipment such as multimeters, power supplies, and basic signal measurement tools.
  • Familiarity with common connectors, pinning standards, and harness fabrication techniques.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for routine electrical issues.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to build quality.
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and prioritize work effectively.
