Electrical Estimator

Are you an experienced Electrical Estimator with a passion for the electrical industry? Do you enjoy working with numbers, problem solving and delivering accurate, competitive pricing for a range of projects? Kinetic Electrical Queenstown is looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, full-time Electrical Estimator to join our team.

Based in Queenstown, our work includes a variety of electrical projects from Water & Wastewater Treatment Plants, Commercial Projects, Switchboard Building and some residential.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with project managers, engineers, suppliers and clients to ensure high-quality service delivery.
• Prepare clear and accurate quotes using estimating software for electrical projects, including new installations, upgrades, and maintenance works.
• Site visits and meetings to ensure requirements are understood and incorporated into pricing.
• Review drawings and specifications to provide accurate and competitive quotations.
• Assist with tender submissions, pricing documentation, and proposal preparation.
• Keep current with industry standards, technologies, and regulations that may impact costs or methods.
• Identify opportunities to offer cost-effective alternatives & liaise with suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
• Ensure clear communication with clients and internal teams throughout the estimating process. Follow up on submitted tenders to gather feedback and support future improvements.

About you

• New Zealand residency or the right to work in NZ permanently.
• Full NZ driver's license
• 5+ years of experience in the electrical industry.
• Current NZ Electrical Certification & Practicing Licence a bonus.
• A willingness to be flexible with hours of work & domestic travel.
• A positive appreciation of safety in the workplace.
• Kudos if you have SIMPRO and Groundplan experience.
• A proactive approach to resolving complex issues & challenges.
• Self-motivated with excellent communication skills.
