Omega Electrical NW is an ambitious and growing electrical contractor based in Blackpool, delivering commercial electrical projects across the UK and Ireland.

Over the past five years, we have grown from strength to strength, establishing ourselves within the hospitality sector and building a strong reputation for delivering commercial projects.

Now, we’re ready for the next stage of our journey.

We’re looking to expand into new sectors, including healthcare, education, residential apartments and wider commercial developments. To help us achieve this, we’re looking for an experienced, commercially minded Electrical Estimator who knows how to identify opportunities, build strong client relationships and, most importantly, win work.

The Role

We’re looking for more than someone who can price a tender. We want an estimator with a proven track record of winning work, a strong commercial understanding and the confidence to engage directly with clients.

You will take ownership of the estimating process, from reviewing tender opportunities and preparing competitive, accurate quotations through to developing client relationships and helping convert opportunities into secured projects.

With no existing estimating department in place, you’ll have the opportunity to make the role your own, influence our approach to tendering and play a direct part in expanding Omega into new markets.

You’ll work closely with the management team to identify opportunities, strengthen our client base and help drive the company’s continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, competitive and commercially sound electrical tenders for a range of commercial projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, schedules and tender documentation to establish project requirements.
• Produce detailed take-offs, cost estimates, bills of quantities and tender submissions.
• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure competitive pricing.
• Identify tender opportunities across existing and new sectors, including healthcare, education, apartments and commercial developments.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, main contractors, consultants, suppliers and other key contacts.
• Engage directly with clients to understand their requirements, discuss proposals and follow up on submitted tenders.
• Proactively pursue opportunities and contribute to converting enquiries and tenders into secured contracts.
• Review tender outcomes, assess feedback and continually improve our approach to winning work.
• Work alongside the management team to develop and implement an effective estimating and business development strategy.
• Support the company’s expansion into new sectors and help establish long-term client relationships.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is commercially driven, proactive and motivated by results.

You’ll ideally have:

• Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within the commercial electrical contracting sector.
• A demonstrable track record of winning work and converting tenders into secured contracts.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical installations, estimating methods, materials and labour costs.
• The ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the confidence to build relationships and engage with decision-makers.
• A commercial mindset, with the ability to balance competitive pricing against project profitability.
• A proactive approach to identifying opportunities, following up tenders and developing new business relationships.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
• The ambition to take ownership, make an impact and grow alongside the business.

Experience across multiple commercial sectors would be advantageous, particularly healthcare, education, residential apartments or other large-scale commercial projects. However, we’re equally interested in someone with a strong track record in their current sector who has the ambition and ability to help us expand into new markets.

Above all, we’re looking for someone who understands that successful estimating is about more than putting a price on a job — it’s about building relationships, understanding the client and winning profitable work.
