What is the job?

The Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate estimates and bids for electrical construction projects. The role reviews drawings and specifications, performs material and labor takeoffs, evaluates vendor and subcontractor costs, and prepares bid documents.

Responsibilities:

• Review electrical drawings, specifications, and bid documents to understand project requirements.
• Prepare estimates from conceptual designs, design-assist documents, plans, and specifications.
• Perform detailed material and labor takeoffs for electrical construction projects.
• Determine quantities, pricing, labor requirements, and other costs for estimates.
• Review vendor bills of materials and subcontractor scope letters for accuracy.
• Prepare accurate proposals, bid forms, and supporting estimating documentation.
• Follow established estimating procedures, guidelines, and project requirements.
• Ensure estimates are completed accurately and submitted by the required bid date and time.
• Assemble complete estimating information for bid submission.
• Participate in project turnover and setup activities.
• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams as needed to clarify scope and pricing.
• Support post-project reviews to identify opportunities to improve estimating methods and procedures.
• Perform other estimating-related duties as assigned by the Senior Electrical Estimator or supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in electrical estimating or electrical construction projects.
• Has working knowledge in National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Demonstrates strong understanding of electrical construction materials, labor, and project requirements.
• Experience with US electrical estimating.
