Job Purpose

Purpose of the Role
We are seeking an experienced Foreman Electrical to lead and execute electrical maintenance activities in the Steel Melting Shop, covering EAF (Electric Arc Furnace), LRF (Ladle Refining Furnace), FTP (Fume Treatment Plant) and RMHS (Raw Material Handling System). The candidate should possess strong troubleshooting skills, hands-on maintenance expertise and the ability to supervise maintenance teams while ensuring safe and reliable operation of plant equipment.

Job Responsibilities (KRA)

Electrical Maintenance

• Carry out preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment in EAF, LRF, FTP and RMHS areas.
• Ensure maximum equipment availability and minimize downtime through effective maintenance practices.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and restore equipment to normal operation within minimum time.
• Maintain motors, transformers, MCCs, PCCs, switchgears, VFDs, control panels, relays, contactors and electrical distribution systems.

Equipment Maintenance

• Maintain electrical systems associated with EAF and LRF, including drives, motors, transformers and auxiliary equipment.
• Handle maintenance of FTP electrical systems, including fans, pumps, motors and control systems.
• Maintain RMHS electrical equipment such as conveyors, feeders, crushers, screens, magnetic separators and material handling systems.
• Support maintenance activities related to EOT cranes and other plant utility equipment.
• Drawing Interpretation & Troubleshooting
• Read and interpret electrical circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams and control schematics.
• Identify faults using electrical drawings and testing instruments.
• Trace control circuits and rectify faults in power and control systems.
• Assist in modification and improvement of electrical circuits as required.

Supervision & Coordination

• Supervise technicians and maintenance personnel during shift operations.
• Allocate maintenance jobs and monitor execution to ensure quality and safety compliance.
• Coordinate with Production, Mechanical and Instrumentation teams for planned maintenance and breakdown activities.
• Support shutdown planning and execution activities.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure strict adherence to electrical safety standards, LOTO procedures and Permit-to-Work systems.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and safe working practices in all maintenance areas.
• Ensure compliance with plant safety policies and statutory electrical regulations.
• Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain records of breakdowns, preventive maintenance activities and equipment history.
• Prepare daily shift reports and maintenance reports.
• Monitor critical spares and coordinate with stores for timely availability of electrical components.
