Electrical Improver / Installation Assistant (2+ Years Field Exp) – Van Progression

HomeTechWare delivers professional electrical, security, and smart home technology integration services for residential and commercial spaces throughout London. We are currently seeking a driven, dedicated Electrical Improver to become an integral part of our operations.

You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with our Lead Electrician, who brings over a decade of field expertise. This role is built for an improver who has graduated past entry-level training, possesses genuine hands-on site experience, and is eager to tackle diverse projects and daily technical problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

• First & Second Fixes: Support first-fix containment and cable routing, alongside clean, precision-focused second-fix work for power, lighting, and accessories.
• Fault Diagnosis: Bring a foundation in basic fault-finding, combined with a strong readiness to pick up advanced diagnostic techniques.
• On-Site Adaptability: Apply practical thinking and resourcefulness to navigate everyday challenges in the field.
• Inspection & Testing: Prior exposure or familiarity with standard testing procedures is a distinct advantage.
• Cross-Trade Versatility: Any secondary trade skills you bring to the table are welcomed.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: At least 2+ years of verified, practical site work (classroom hours alone do not substitute).
• Qualifications: Electrical Installation Diploma (City & Guilds 2365 Level 2 or Level 3, or equivalent).
• Credentials: Current ECS/CSCS card and a clean Full UK Driving Licence.
• Initial Setup (Trial Period): Your own basic hand tools, core power tools (such as an SDS drill), and a personal vehicle to commute reliably to various London sites during the trial phase.
• Character & Work Ethic: Dependable, time-conscious, physically prepared for rigorous site demands, and ready to take direction and graft alongside an experienced mentor.

The Opportunity

We kick things off with a concise, trial period to ensure mutual alignment, moving straight into permanent status for the right individual. Upon transitioning to permanent, a company van and fuel card are provided.
