TITLE: Electrical Inspector (Per Diem Part Time)

DEPARTMENT: Code Enforcement

REPORTS TO: Director of Code Enforcement/Construction Official & Electrical Subcode Official

HOURLY RATE: $47.00 - $58.00 per hour (commensurate with experience, certifications and education)

UNION: Non-Union

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

WORK HOURS: Weekdays Only (Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday) up to 20 hours per week

w/some flexibility in schedule

EFFECTIVE: Immediately

BENEFITS: Employee benefits include earned sick leave and family leave. Mandatory

participation in the Defined Contribution Retirement Plan (DCRP) once minimum

wages earned in a calendar year is met.

Under the direction of the Director of Code Enforcement/Construction Official, the Part Time Electrical

Inspector is responsible for inspection and enforcement functions for the Township of Plainsboro.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Conducting scheduled daily inspections.

• Preparing reports for all inspections, reporting violations and following up as needed.

• Responding to complaints and preparing reports of findings and conclusions.

• Conferring with sub-code official regarding plans for conformance to UCC codes and

Township Ordinances.

• Keeping supervisor informed of issues relating to inspections, violations and complaints.

• Attending required training including maintaining State certification.

Requirements:

• 1-3 years’ experience in code enforcement, inspection, repair, maintenance, and/or

construction.

• Valid UCC Electrical Inspector License – multiple licenses a plus

• NJ Driver’s License
