Santee Cooper’s Electrical Line Worker Scholarship Program provides an opportunity to earn an Electrical Line Worker 3rd Class Certificate in Applied Science while gaining hands-on experience with a professional line crew.

Scholarship opportunities are available for students attending the Electrical Line Worker program at various Technical Colleges which include:

• Trident Technical College
• Horry-Georgetown Technical College
• Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College
• York Technical College
• Denmark Technical College

The 16-week program begin s in August 2027 and runs through December 2027 . Participants attend school full time Monday through Thursday and work with a Santee Cooper line crew each Friday. Participants are paid for the Fridays they work with a crew at a rate of $24.00 per hour.

Work Location: Work location assignments may be available at various Santee Cooper locations across South Carolina. Placement is based on the participants current location and business needs.

Qualified Candidates

• Are 18 years of age or older by June 2027
• Will be a H igh School Graduate by June 2027
• Are interested in pursuing a career as an electrical line worker
• Are comfortable working at considerable heights
• Are physically fit and able to perform the essential duties of the position
• Possess a valid Driver's License
• Are willing and able to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions
• Are able to pass a pre-employment physical and background check
• Are committed to successfully completing the Electrical Line Worker program
