What they need

Insight Global is seeking Electrical Manufacturing Engineers (ECAT-focused) to support one of our largest aerospace clients in San Antonio, TX. These individuals will play a critical role on the Electrical Corrective Action Team (ECAT), partnering directly with production to resolve electrical nonconformances and drive real-time build recovery on the aircraft. This position is highly embedded in shop floor operations, where engineers will work shipside with mechanics and production teams to troubleshoot issues, rework installation plans, and ensure builds are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with engineering intent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive ECAT Issue Resolution: Partner directly with mechanics and production teams to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical nonconformances and installation issues in real time
  • Develop Rework & Recovery Plans: Create and revise electrical build plans, installation sequencing, and out-of-sequence work instructions to support production recovery and execution
  • Shipside Engineering Support: Provide hands-on support on the shop floor to ensure accurate implementation of electrical systems, installations, and rework activities
  • Translate Engineering Intent to Execution: Interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and BOMs to develop clear, executable instructions aligned to current aircraft configuration
  • Support Change & Configuration Management: Process and implement Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Change Requests (CRs) to ensure production reflects latest design updates
  • Ensure Compliance & Quality: Validate that all work meets engineering, regulatory, and quality standards, including proper documentation and sign-off of completed work
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Design Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to resolve blockers impacting schedule, cost, and quality
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify recurring issues and implement process improvements to enhance manufacturing efficiency, reduce defects, and improve throughput

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting electrical manufacturing, aircraft systems, or aerospace production environments
  • Previous experience working with WIRS
  • Strong ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Experience working directly with production teams or mechanics in a shop floor environment
  • Familiarity with nonconformance resolution, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Experience supporting engineering changes (ECRs/CRs) and configuration updates
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience with production/planning systems (e.g., Gold ESP, IVT)
  • Previous involvement in ECAT, MRB, or liaison engineering-type functions
  • Experience supporting out-of-sequence work (OSIPs) or rework planning
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience

Pay Rate: $55-65/hour depending on experience
