ELECTRICAL PROJECT ENGINEER

MAIN FUNCTIONS

• Plan, coordinate and provide technical leadership for electrical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage electrical engineering deliverables from design and procurement through construction, testing, commissioning and handover.
• Review electrical designs, specifications, calculations, drawings, single-line diagrams, cable schedules and equipment layouts.
• Coordinate electrical engineering activities with project management, procurement, construction, commissioning and other engineering disciplines.
• Ensure electrical systems are designed and installed in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, standards and client requirements.
• Develop and monitor electrical engineering work scopes, deliverables, schedules and resource requirements.
• Review vendor drawings, technical datasheets, material requisitions and equipment documentation for electrical equipment.
• Coordinate procurement activities for electrical equipment and materials, including technical bid evaluations and vendor technical clarifications.
• Supervise and provide technical support for installation of transformers, switchgear, MCCs, generators, UPS systems, distribution boards, cables, lighting, earthing and other electrical systems.
• Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure electrical works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, method statements, ITPs and project schedules.
• Coordinate electrical inspections, testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
• Support energization, start-up and performance testing of electrical systems and equipment.
• Identify technical issues, design discrepancies, construction constraints and project risks and coordinate appropriate solutions.
• Manage technical queries, Requests for Information (RFIs), design changes, deviations and field modifications.
• Monitor project progress and ensure electrical engineering deliverables are completed within approved cost and schedule requirements.
• Participate in project meetings, design reviews, HAZOP/HAZID or other technical review sessions where applicable.
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure inspection, testing and documentation requirements are satisfied.
• Review and close electrical punch-list items and ensure complete documentation is available for project handover.
• Prepare technical reports, progress updates, engineering status reports and project documentation.
• Ensure all electrical project activities comply with company HSE requirements, permit-to-work procedures and electrical safety standards.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• B.Sc./B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience, preferably in oil & gas, EPC, power, industrial, marine or major construction projects.
• Proven experience managing or coordinating electrical engineering activities within multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong knowledge of LV, MV and HV power systems, electrical distribution and protection.
• Experience with electrical equipment procurement, vendor management, installation and commissioning.
• Good understanding of project management, cost, schedule, quality and change-control processes.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, EPLAN or similar platforms is an advantage.
• Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, NFPA, NEC and relevant client/project standards.
• Professional certification or membership with a recognized engineering body is an advantage.

Pay: ₦150,000.00 - ₦240,000.00 per day
