Electrical Project Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an Electrical Project Engineer who can interpret drawings, prepare quantities and cost estimates, and support project execution across different sites.

Key responsibilities

• Review electrical and ELV drawings, specifications and tender documents.
• Carry out quantity take-offs and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ), including materials, labour and equipment requirements.
• Prepare cost estimates and assist with quotations and tender submissions.
• Conduct site visits, measurements and assessments to verify work scope and quantities.
• Coordinate installation works with site supervisors, workers, subcontractors and clients.
• Prepare material requisitions and coordinate with procurement on specifications, quantities and delivery requirements.
• Monitor work progress and quality, resolve site issues and report outstanding matters to the Project Manager.
• Verify completed quantities and prepare supporting documents for progress claims and variation orders.
• Assist with inspections, testing and commissioning, drawing updates and project handover.
• Travel to and support different project sites as assigned by the company, including temporary outstation assignments.

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in electrical or M&E projects.
• Able to independently interpret drawings, carry out quantity take-offs and prepare BOQ and cost estimates.
• Practical knowledge of electrical installation methods and materials; ELV experience is an advantage.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Able to communicate in Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia and English. Mandarin is required for coordination with Mandarin-speaking clients and site teams.
• Flexible to work across different project locations according to project requirements.
• Possess a valid driving licence and own transport.
• Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with office and site teams.
