What they need

Fluid Recruitment is proud to partner with Falcon Ltd in search of an Electrical Project Engineer to join their central North Island operation.

About Falcon:

With 50 years of success behind them, Falcon Electrical is entering one of the most exciting periods in its history. Established in Hawke's Bay in 1975, Falcon has grown into a recognised leader in electrical engineering and project delivery, partnering with some of New Zealand's leading organisations to deliver complex projects across energy, power generation, water infrastructure, healthcare and industrial manufacturing.

Bringing together engineering and design, project management, automation, high-voltage expertise and electrical contracting, Falcon offers something different: the opportunity to be involved in projects from initial concept and design through to installation and commissioning. Its integrated approach, strong client partnerships and reputation for delivering work to a high standard have positioned the business for its next phase of growth.

The Role:

This growth role will see you partnering with Falcon's key central North Island based clients. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will lead a diverse range of electrical projects, primarily set within the industrial and utility environments, acting as a key touchpoint throughout the end-to-end project lifecycle.

  • Lead electrical projects from concept through completion, keeping them on time and on budget
  • Take responsibility for financial outcomes, building budgets and estimating labour, material and construction costs
  • Provide technical guidance on design, including calculations, specifications for materials and equipment, and compliance with standards
  • Oversee the delivery and commissioning of electrical equipment and components in manufacturing and infrastructure environments, coordinating on-site construction, installation, testing and documentation
  • Be the go-to contact for customers, trades and managers, supervising your project team, resolving complaints and using field surveys to fix power system problems

About you:

You might be a tertiary-qualified Electrical Project Engineer or Technical Project Manager, or an experienced Site Manager, Team Lead or Leading Electrical Technician, from an industrial, manufacturing or FMCG environment, ready to lead a range of projects.

  • A tertiary qualification in electrical engineering, or equivalent practical experience in the field, along with a valid driver's licence
  • A track record of delivering projects on time and on budget, backed by solid pricing and estimating skills
  • Strong people skills, with the confidence to lead teams, manage customers and trades, and keep a clear head under pressure

Why join now?

Falcon is committed to developing its people, investing in technical expertise and creating future leaders from within. Recent internal promotions into senior leadership roles demonstrate that career progression is a genuine part of the company's growth strategy.

Guided by three core values, We Make It Happen, We Do What Is Right, and We Make It Together, Falcon is looking for people who want to make a meaningful contribution, take ownership of their work and be part of a team building something ambitious.

On offer competitive remuneration package with a comprehensive range of benefits, including,

  • Generous Wellness Bonus
  • Professional Development & Training Opportunities
  • Regular social activities and office activities
  • Flexible working conditions and locations (the right individual can be based anywhere in the Central North Island or Waikato region)
