Electrical Project Engineer - Power & Grid Connections

Location: India Remote (Full-time, aligning with Australian Melbourne business hours starting at 10:00 AM)

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer with a strong background in power transmission and grid connections. In this remote role supporting an international property and infrastructure developer, you will coordinate external consultants, review technical studies and single line diagrams (SLDs), and drive major high-voltage (HV) grid-connection processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate external electrical engineers, specialist consultants, network businesses, and relevant authorities.
• Review SLDs, load schedules, substation concepts, technical studies, system models, and connection reports.
• Monitor grid-connection enquiries, applications, Requests for Information (RFIs), assessments, and approval pathways.
• Review consultant scopes, proposals, deliverables, programs, and fees, while identifying technical gaps, risks, and delays.
• Maintain integrated schedules, action registers, risk registers, decision logs, and document control systems.
• Prepare concise technical and progress reports for leadership and communicate complex engineering matters clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (Postgraduate study, chartered status, or project management certification is desirable).
• 8+ years of relevant experience in major HV connection, utility, or power infrastructure projects.
• Strong background working for an owner, network business, utility, or engineering consultancy.
• Australian/NEM (National Electricity Market) experience is highly desirable; comparable international experience will be considered.
• Disciplined, proactive, and available for collaborative meetings during Australian business hours.
