Electrical Service Salesman

Job Summary

At Mr. Electric of Central Iowa, our Service Sales Specialist bridges the gap between technical diagnosis and homeowner peace of mind. You will meet with residential and light commercial customers to evaluate their electrical service needs, present transparent flat-rate options, and secure approval for safety upgrades, panel replacements, home standby generators, rewires, and major electrical repairs.

Responsibilities

• In-Home Consultations: Meet with clients on-site to inspect existing electrical infrastructure, identify safety code violations or capacity issues, and understand homeowner priorities.
• Proposal & Options Building: Prepare upfront, multi-option quotes (Good / Better / Best) using Mr. Electric’s flat-rate pricing system.
• Closing & Financing: Walk homeowners through investment details, offer available financing options, and close agreements in the home.
• Technician & Office Collaboration: Coordinate with dispatchers and lead service electricians to ensure accurate job scoping and smooth project handoff.
• Pipeline Management: Maintain consistent follow-up on open estimates through our CRM to maximize close rates.

Requirements

• 1–3+ years of direct sales experience in residential service trades OR extensive field experience as an electrician with a strong knack for customer communication and upselling.
• Working familiarity with common residential electrical services (200A service changes, whole-home surge protection, EV chargers, transfer switches).
• Exceptional communication skills—able to explain complex technical issues in clear, relatable terms.
• Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
• Comfortable utilizing iPad/tablet software for dispatching, estimating, and contract signing.

Pay: $64,800.00 - $78,200.00 per year
