Morrison Electric is looking for an experienced Electrical Service Technician who can step into the role and begin contributing immediately.

We are looking for someone who knows electrical service work, understands how to troubleshoot problems, and is comfortable working independently.

Service work rarely goes exactly as expected. A customer may call about one issue and, once you arrive, the real problem may be something completely different. You need to be able to quickly switch gears, diagnose the problem, and determine the right solution.

Just as important, you will be working directly with our customers. They may know something isn't working but may not know why or what they need. We need someone who can ask the right questions, explain what is happening without overcomplicating it, and treat the customer professionally.

What You'll Do

• Respond to electrical service calls.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems.
• Determine appropriate repairs and solutions.
• Perform electrical repairs and service work.
• Adapt when a service call turns into something different than expected.
• Work independently and make sound decisions in the field.
• Explain problems and solutions clearly to customers.
• Communicate job status and additional needs to the office.
• Document work and materials accurately.
• Follow electrical codes and safe work practices.
• Work at a variety of customer and job-site locations.

What We're Looking For

• Michigan Master Electrician license or qualifying Michigan Electrical Contractor licensure is required.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and service experience.
• Broad electrical knowledge rather than experience in only one narrow area.
• Ability to walk into a problem, assess it, and develop a solution.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
• Strong customer-service and communication skills.
• Ability to explain electrical issues to people who may not understand electrical systems.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in varying Michigan weather conditions.
