Electrical Site Supervisor - Freelance/Contract

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Electrical Site Supervisor to oversee electrical works across our projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for working & coordinating day-to-day electrical activities, supervising site teams and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements. This is a hands-on supervisory position requiring strong technical knowledge, good organisation and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors and site teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate & Installation on daily electrical activities on site.
• Ensure electrical work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, programmes and relevant safety requirements.
• Lead and support electrical teams and subcontractors, providing clear instructions and guidance.
• Monitor progress against the project programme and identify potential delays or technical issues.
• Review drawings, specifications and work instructions before work begins.
• Conduct site inspections and help ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, project managers and other trades to coordinate works.
• Maintain accurate site records, including progress updates, inspections, variations and safety documentation.
• Assist with resolving technical and operational issues on site.
• Promote high standards of workmanship, safety and productivity.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience supervising electrical works within the construction or building-services industry.
• Strong working knowledge of electrical installations, drawings and specifications.
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Services, Electrical Installation or an equivalent qualification.
• Current Gold ECS card.
• SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
• Testing and inspection qualification.
• Good knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead site teams and coordinate subcontractors effectively.
• Clear and professional communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing site priorities.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.

Desirable Requirements

• First Aid at Work qualification.
• Experience using project planning or reporting software.
• Full UK driving licence.

About the Role

This opportunity is offered on a freelance/contract basis, with a day rate of £270–£280 depending on experience and qualifications.

The successful applicant will work across JPS project locations, operating in different sectors, all commercial, Office fit out, Healthcare, Industrial.

Candidates will be required to provide the appropriate documentation for contractor onboarding and site access. Evidence of the right to work in the UK will be required in accordance with applicable Home Office requirements.

The engagement will be subject to the appropriate contractual arrangements and status assessment.
