Electrical Supervisor

Job Summary

An Electrical Supervisor is responsible for supervising electrical installation, maintenance, testing, and repair activities while ensuring work is completed safely, correctly, and according to project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise electrical technicians and electricians during preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults in industrial machinery and production equipment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot AC/DC motors, VFDs, soft starters, MCC panels, control panels, contactors, relays, and protection devices.
• Diagnose motor problems including overcurrent, overheating, abnormal vibration, speed reduction, insulation failure, bearing problems, and phase imbalance.
• Perform and supervise motor insulation testing, winding resistance checks, bearing replacement, alignment, and motor replacement.
• Maintain electrical systems of extruders, crushers, shredders, granulators, conveyors, pumps, compressors, chillers, forklifts, and material-handling equipment.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, proximity switches, limit switches, encoders, thermocouples, heaters, SSRs, and temperature controllers.
• Monitor transformers, distribution boards, MCCs, power-factor correction panels, and plant electrical distribution systems.
• Prepare and execute preventive maintenance schedules to reduce unplanned breakdowns.
• Respond immediately to production breakdowns, identify root causes, and restore equipment safely with minimum downtime.
• Perform root-cause analysis for repetitive electrical failures and implement corrective actions.
• Supervise new electrical installations, machine commissioning, cable laying, termination, panel modifications, and equipment relocation.
• Read and interpret electrical single-line diagrams, control schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
• Maintain appropriate spare parts for motors, VFDs, contactors, breakers, sensors, heaters, and other critical electrical components.
• Monitor electrical load, voltage, current, power factor, and energy consumption and identify opportunities for energy efficiency.
• Maintain maintenance records, breakdown reports, preventive-maintenance checklists, and equipment history.
• Coordinate with production, mechanical maintenance, utilities, and external contractors.
• Ensure compliance with company HSE requirements and safe electrical working practices.
• Train and guide electricians and technicians in troubleshooting and safe maintenance practices.
• Report equipment condition, major breakdowns, spare-parts requirements, and maintenance performance to the Maintenance/Technical Manager.

Experience Required

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an Electrical Supervisor or in a similar role.
• Experience in electrical installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Experience supervising electricians and coordinating site activities.

Pay: AED3,500.00 per month
