Electrical Switchboard - Foreman

Fuji SMBE Macquarie is a leading manufacturer of electrical switchboards, and we’re growing our team at our modern manufacturing facility in Prestons, Southern Sydney.

We are currently seeking to fill the role of Workshop Foreman to lead a team of approx. 35 factory staff . The role is hands-on & not office based. The role involves workshop supervision, training & leadership of the factory floor staff to maintain production of a high quality product. About the Role

In the role of Workshop Foreman, you’ll work alongside a supportive group to manufacture high-quality 415V electrical switchboards. Reporting to the Production Manager, your responsibilities may include:

• Supervision & monitoring of all process involved in the manufacture of Switchboards using modular & welded switchboard assemblies including busbar manufacture & installation, component installation & wiring.
• Following the assembly processes with care and attention to detail
• Working safely and contributing to a positive team environment

The role involves working on your feet and some regular manual handling tasks, including lifting components up to approximately 10kg.

Who We’re Looking For

• Previous employment with local switchboard manufacturers & have an understanding of local service rules, Australian Switchboard standards AS/NZ 61439:2016

• Attention to detail, be keen to learn with an energetic attitude and team-oriented with a positive, can do attitude. Mut be capable of working unsupervised & safely

• Be detail focused & work with a high standard of workmanship.

• Allocate scheduled factory labour to ensure delivery targets are achieved. Identify opportunities to improve production efficency & work methods.

• Be focused on Health & Safety in the workshop

• Must be able to read, understand & wire from schematic diagrams. Previous work with control wiring is essential.

• Must have previous experience with workshop hand tools eg. battery drills, screwdrivers, drilling holes & tapping threads.

• Previous experience with assembling modular switchboard systems is essential.

• Must have good communication with a good understanding of written & verbal English, be reliable, motivated, and willing to pass on your skills & experience to train up & monitor factory staff.

• Conduct weekly toolbox meetings with factory staff, and attend weekly Production meetings.

• Co-ordinate with Testing staff to ensure completed Switchboards are wrapped & packaged in preparation for despatch.
