Job Position: Electrical Team Lead

Job Location: Alaba Coker, Lagos

About the Role

• The Electrical Team Lead is responsible for leading and coordinating all electrical maintenance activities to ensure the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of production equipment, utilities, and electrical systems.
• The role provides technical leadership to the electrical maintenance team, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum equipment availability to support production targets.
• The incumbent will drive electrical reliability, execute maintenance plans, and collaborate with Production, Engineering, Utilities, and Quality teams to achieve operational excellence.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Assemble, Evaluate, Test and Maintain electrical components.
• Troubleshoot and rectify electrical related issues.
• Interpret electrical diagrams or schematics to identify potential electrical failures.
• Ensure strategic preventive maintenance plans are in place.
• Conduct routine inspection of electrical system as recommended by OEM.
• Address electrical as well as operational problems in a timely and effective manner.
• Ensure adequate supervision and apt completion of all maintenance duties.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant efficiency
• Monitor and maintain PLCs, VFDs, MCCs, sensors, instrumentation, and power distribution systems.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Support installation, commissioning, and modification of electrical and automation systems.
• Perform other duties as required

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• At least 3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, PLCs, instrumentation, and automation systems.
• Proven experience in preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical and automation faults in a timely manner.
• Experience with maintenance planning, CMMS, and root cause analysis methodologies.
• Good understanding of electrical safety regulations, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and HSE requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., COREN, NSE) is an added advantage.
• Preferred: Experience in plastic/preform industry, packaging, or other high-volume manufacturing.
