About the Opportunity

An established developer within the European data centre sector is seeking an experienced Electrical Technical Manager to support the design and delivery of large-scale data centre developments across Spain.

This is a strategic technical leadership position focused on the electrical design, resilience and performance of mission-critical facilities. The successful candidate will play a key role from early-stage concept and design through construction, commissioning and handover, working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams and external consultants.

The position offers the opportunity to influence some of the most technically advanced data centre projects in Europe, including hyperscale, colocation and high-density computing environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering reviews throughout concept, design, construction and commissioning phases.
• Define and develop electrical design standards, technical criteria and power distribution philosophies.
• Review and optimise MV/LV distribution systems, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, generators and critical power infrastructure.
• Ensure designs meet requirements for resilience, scalability, maintainability and operational reliability.
• Support the development of electrical strategies suitable for hyperscale and high-density computing environments.
• Coordinate closely with mechanical, civil, structural and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration across projects.
• Review electrical studies including protection coordination, selectivity, load-flow and fault analysis.
• Provide technical oversight during construction, testing, energisation and commissioning activities.
• Support technical procurement activities and engage with major equipment manufacturers and suppliers.
• Participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning and integrated systems testing activities.

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience within electrical engineering, mission-critical facilities or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Medium and low voltage power distribution
• UPS systems
• Generators
• Transformers
• Switchgear
• Battery systems
• Critical power infrastructure
• Experience delivering complex engineering projects through design and construction phases.
• Strong stakeholder management and consultant coordination experience.
• Working knowledge of Spanish and European electrical standards.
• Fluent English and Spanish preferred.

Desirable:

• Data centre experience.
• Hyperscale, colocation or AI/HPC project exposure.
• Mission-critical commissioning and integrated systems testing experience.
