Electrical Technician

About the role

Polar Engineering Pte Ltd is looking for hands-on and technically capable Electrical Technicians to join our team. The role involves electrical installation, wiring, troubleshooting and modification works, with technicians primarily deployed to customer sites. You will work on a variety of electrical systems, including vehicle electrical systems and custom electrical control boxes. This is a practical, hands-on position suitable for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, working with tools and electrical equipment, and taking ownership of their work.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical installation and wiring works.
• Carry out electrical troubleshooting and fault finding.
• Perform wire and cable termination.
• Build and wire electrical control boxes according to electrical drawings and schematics.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Work on basic vehicle electrical systems, including locating fuse boxes, identifying suitable electrical tap points, identifying grounding points, and troubleshooting basic vehicle electrical faults.
• Use electrical measuring and testing equipment such as multimeters and power supplies.
• Perform electrical modifications and installations at customer sites.
• Maintain proper workmanship, safety and housekeeping standards.
• Work independently and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.

About you

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 1–2 years of relevant working experience.
• Good understanding of electrical systems and wiring.
• Able to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Able to use basic electrical measuring equipment such as a multimeter.
• Able to perform wire termination and electrical installation works.
• Hands-on and practical approach to technical work.
• Able to work independently and take initiative.
• Good integrity, responsible and hardworking.
• Conversational English proficiency.
