Electrical Technician

1. JOB DETAILS:

Position: Electrical Technician

Division: Maintenance

Department: Maintenance

Direct Supervisor: Site Manager

2. JOB PURPOSE:

To carry out maintenance, installation, overhauling and modification activities on plant’s electrical machinery and equipment in accordance with standard maintenance procedures, HSE guidelines and quality standards to attain effective functionality and reliability.

3. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Carry out required daily electrical maintenance work and routine preventative electrical maintenance work according to set schedule and ACWA NOMAC procedures to facilitate continuous operations.
• Monitor the physical condition of all equipment in assigned plant and report non-conformances to Electrical Engineer / Electrical Supervisor to facilitate effective maintenance of all ACWA NOMAC facilities as per set Quality/ HSE standards.
• Respond to electrical failures and implement corrective actions in adherence with procedures and guidelines to reduce downtime and maximize functionality of equipment.

4. REPORTING AND DOCUMENT FLOW

Update the maintenance logbook and record details of work carried out including defaults, problems, various findings and conditions of all equipment to ensure timely availability of information and organized referencing.

5. GENERAL JOB DUTIES

• Trouble shoot using necessary tools which include diagnosis, repairing and testing circuit or wiring faults; locating faults in cables to validate that all connection points and cables are capable of withstanding capacity voltages.
• Diagnose causes of electrical malfunction or failure of operational equipment such as transformers, motors, relays, switches and control and monitoring devices and take corrective measures in collaboration with Electrical Engineer / Electrical Supervisor.
• Read and understand technical manuals, wiring diagrams etc., and apply the knowledge to carry out maintenance and troubleshooting tasks, to prepare for the electrical maintenance to equipment in the assigned area.
• Align, adjust and calibrate equipment according to specifications and to maintain records of repairs, calibrations and tests.
• Need to develop skills on any one of the major core fields to become GH2 subject matter experts:
• 1. Transformers, rectifier & Electrolyser
• 2. LV / HV apparatus, 35KV Switch yard & Relay panels
• 3. DCS,PLC & SCADA
• 4. Pump, Motor & Compressors

Inventory

• Check the necessary stock levels of spare parts to support effective inventory control.

Continuous Improvement

• Contribute in the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programmes and projects in line with the organization’s standards.
• Need to complete Mishkaty TQP L4 with JPM for all site-specific contents of Uzbek GH2 Plants.

• Adhere to all relevant organizational and departmental policies, processes, standard maintenance procedures and instructions so that work is carried out to the required standard and in a consistent manner.

• Adhere to all relevant health, safety, security and environmental procedures, instructions and controls so that the safety of employees and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.

• Perform any other duties which the line manager may require to be carried out.

• To report to the manager about all identified violations and shortcomings in connection with the work performed.

• To refuse to fulfill orders, instructions, assignments and tasks contradicting the legislation of RUz, having justified his refusal to the Head of the Department in writing;

9. ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The employee is responsible:

• For improper and untimely performance or non-performance of his/her job duties stipulated by this job description - within the limits defined by the labor legislation of RUz.

• For offenses committed in the course of his activity - within the limits defined by the current administrative, criminal and civil legislation of RUz.

• For causing material damage - within the limits defined by the current labor and civil legislation of RUz.

• For non-compliance with the current instructions, orders and instructions on preservation of commercial secrets and confidential information.

• For failure to comply with internal regulations, safety and fire safety rules.

• For failure to inform the Head about non-standard working conditions and non-compliance with the quality of products (in relation to the activities of the division, department).

• In case of transfer to another job or dismissal from the position, he/she is responsible for proper and timely handing over the files to the person assuming the present position, and in case of absence of such a person, to the person replacing him/her or directly to his/her supervisor.

• For the fulfillment of individual task plans for the year according to the employee performance appraisal system. The goals and tasks specified in this plan are binding. In case of non-fulfillment, improper fulfillment of individual plans and tasks for the year according to the employee’s labor activity assessment system, the employee may be brought to disciplinary responsibility.

• For conscientious performance of his/her labor duties, observance of labor discipline, timely and accurate execution of the employer’s lawful orders, observance of technological discipline, requirements for labor protection, occupational health and safety and industrial sanitation, careful attitude to the employer’s property.

10. REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

Minimum Qualifications:

• A technical certificate / Associate’s Diploma in Electrical maintenance.

Minimum Experience:

• 3-5 years’ experience in electrical maintenance as a technician in installation, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and installations in a plant environment.
