ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN

About the role

Engtex Steel Pipes S/B is seeking a skilled and dedicated Electrical Technician to join our engineering team on a full-time basis. This is a hands-on technical position based in Ijok, Selangor, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimising our electrical systems and equipment. As an Electrical Technician, you will be instrumental in ensuring the reliable operation of our manufacturing and production facilities, directly contributing to operational efficiency and workplace safety.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment, machinery, and control systems throughout the facility
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and malfunctions using diagnostic tools and testing equipment
• Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and breakdowns to minimise production downtime
• Test electrical circuits, components, and systems to identify defects and ensure they meet required specifications
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
• Assist in the installation of new electrical infrastructure and equipment upgrades
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance
• Collaborate with other technicians and engineering staff to support production objectives
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations and workplace health and safety standards

What we're looking for

• Formal qualification in electrical engineering, electrical technology, or a related discipline
• Proven experience working as an electrical technician in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and technical diagrams
• Competency with electrical testing and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and insulation testers
• Strong understanding of electrical safety principles, codes, and regulations
• Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, control systems, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced industrial environment
• Physical capability to perform hands-on technical work and work at heights if required
• Strong communication skills and ability to document work accurately
• Relevant certifications or licences in electrical work are highly valued
