Electrical Technician

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Electrical Technician to carry out electrical installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair works at construction sites. The role involves working with electrical systems, equipment, wiring, cable trays, distribution boards, lighting systems, and other electrical components while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment at construction sites.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Carry out electrical installation works for lighting, power, distribution boards, control panels, and related systems.
• Perform cable pulling, cable termination, glanding, dressing, and proper cable routing.
• Install conduits, cable trays, trunking, junction boxes, switches, sockets, and other electrical accessories.
• Conduct testing and inspection of electrical installations using appropriate testing equipment and tools.
• Identify electrical faults and carry out corrective and preventive maintenance as required.
• Assist Electrical Engineers and Supervisors in executing electrical works according to project requirements and schedules.
• Ensure all electrical installations comply with approved drawings, project specifications, and applicable safety standards.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, plumbing, and other MEP teams to ensure smooth execution of site activities.
• Inspect electrical materials and equipment before installation and report any damaged, defective, or unsuitable materials.
• Maintain proper housekeeping at the work area and ensure electrical tools and equipment are safely stored after use.
• Follow all company and project safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and electrical safety practices.
• Maintain records of completed works, testing results, maintenance activities, and materials used, and report progress or issues to the supervisor.

Requirements

• ITI, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering/Technology.
• Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in construction or MEP projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Good knowledge of construction-site and electrical safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to work at construction sites and meet project deadlines.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
