At Crozier Campers, we design and manufacture high specification Mercedes Benz campervans from our factory in Warton, Lancashire. We are proud to have built a strong reputation for quality, innovation and attention to detail, working closely with leading brands including Mercedes Benz, Victron Energy, Scanstrut and Alde.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Electrical Technician to join our production team.

This is a practical, hands on role and we are looking for someone with genuine electrical experience and a strong understanding of electrical systems. The successful candidate will primarily work on the installation, testing, commissioning and fault finding of the electrical systems within our vehicles.

Our systems incorporate 12V, 24V and 230V equipment (subject to qualifications), including lithium battery systems, inverters, solar, charging systems, distribution equipment, digital switching and associated controls.

Experience with Victron Energy systems would be particularly beneficial. Candidates progressing through the recruitment process will complete a brief practical and technical assessment so that we can understand their existing electrical knowledge, fault finding ability and familiarity with Victron systems.

All of our vehicles are designed and manufactured in line with relevant British Standards, and quality, consistency and health and safety are extremely important throughout our production process.

Role Details

Full time, permanent position - Monday to Thursday, 40 hours per week Working hours 07:00 to 17:30 with an unpaid 30 minute lunch break and a paid 10 minute morning break Plenty of overtime available at an additional rate

Key Responsibilities

• Installation of complete vehicle electrical vehicle & leisure systems
• Installation and configuration of Victron Energy equipment and associated systems
• Testing and commissioning completed electrical installations
• Diagnosing electrical faults and carrying out effective fault finding and rectification
• Working with 12V, 24V and 230V systems (subject to qualifications)
• Reading and working accurately from electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
• Carrying out electrical quality control checks throughout production
• Working closely with our Technical and Production teams to ensure installations are completed correctly and efficiently
• Identifying opportunities to improve the reliability, consistency and installation of our electrical systems
• Supporting the development and implementation of new electrical systems and components
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with applicable standards, schematics and internal procedures

Requirements

We are looking for someone with proven electrical experience. You do not necessarily need previous campervan experience, but you must have a strong electrical foundation and be comfortable demonstrating your knowledge practically.

You should have:

• Previous professional experience working with electrical systems
• Strong practical wiring and installation skills
• Good electrical fault finding and diagnostic ability
• The ability to understand and work from electrical schematics
• An understanding of electrical protection, cable sizing, connections and safe installation practices
• Experience using appropriate electrical testing equipment
• A practical and methodical approach to your work
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in the standard of your installations
• The ability to work independently while also operating effectively as part of a wider production team

Particularly beneficial experience:

• Victron Energy systems, including configuration and commissioning
• Lithium battery systems, Inverters and inverter chargers
• Solar installations and MPPT controllers
• 12V and 24V vehicle electrical systems
• 230V electrical systems
• Automotive, marine, motorhome, campervan or other off grid electrical installations
• Digital switching and control systems

Experience across all of these areas is not essential. We are more interested in finding someone with a strong electrical foundation who can demonstrate their ability and develop their knowledge further.

Practical assessment

As part of the recruitment process, shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a brief practical and technical assessment.

This is not intended to catch anyone out. It will allow us to understand your current electrical knowledge, practical ability, approach to fault finding and familiarity with systems such as Victron.

Full product specific training can be provided where required, but candidates must already have a solid electrical foundation.

You should be someone who can diagnose a problem rather than simply replace components, who is comfortable taking responsibility for the quality of their own work and who wants to continue developing their technical knowledge.
