Position Overview:
Amatriot is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to support the integration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and testing of advanced unmanned maritime systems for the U.S. Navy.
This position supports the integration of mission-critical payloads and autonomous command-and-control (C2) capabilities aboard unmanned maritime vessels. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical systems aboard Navy vessels, small boats, or other maritime platforms.
This is a technical, hands-on position requiring the ability to diagnose electrical issues, support system integration, and work collaboratively with mechanical technicians, engineers, and Navy personnel.
Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment, traveling frequently, and supporting extended work hours when mission requirements dictate. Overtime compensation at time and a half is available for eligible hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical integration, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of payload systems aboard unmanned maritime vessels.
- Diagnose and repair electrical components associated with vessel propulsion, power distribution, control systems, and onboard electronics.
- Support the integration of autonomous command-and-control (C2) systems with existing vessel electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot electrical interfaces and communication pathways between onboard subsystems, sensors, propulsion equipment, and autonomy packages.
- Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and system documentation to support installation and troubleshooting activities.
- Conduct electrical testing, fault isolation, and corrective maintenance on vessel components and integrated payload systems.
- Assist with system-level integration and testing to ensure reliable communication and functionality between interconnected maritime systems.
- Collaborate with mechanical technicians, engineers, and government personnel to resolve technical challenges during vessel modifications and payload installations.
- Support dockside testing, operational evaluations, and field troubleshooting activities.
- Travel to government and contractor facilities, primarily in Florida and California, to support integration, testing, and maintenance activities.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of professional experience as an Electrical Technician, Marine Electrician, Electronics Technician, or similar hands-on technical role. • Experience troubleshooting, maintaining, or integrating electrical systems on maritime vessels, military platforms, or comparable complex equipment. • Understanding of electrical power distribution, wiring, control circuits, and electrical troubleshooting techniques. • Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. • Ability to diagnose electrical faults and perform corrective maintenance. • Familiarity with the interaction between electrical systems, propulsion equipment, and control systems. • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary technical environment. • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time. • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; Interim Secret and previously held clearances will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior U.S. Navy experience, particularly in electrical maintenance, shipboard systems, or maritime engineering.
- Experience working with unmanned maritime vessels, autonomous maritime platforms, or remotely operated systems.
- Experience integrating mission payloads, sensors, or command-and-control systems aboard maritime platforms.
- Familiarity with maritime propulsion control systems and their associated electrical components.
- Experience supporting Navy research, development, testing, or operational integration programs.
- Experience working with small boats, patrol craft, or specialized Navy vessels.
- Valid boating license or boating safety certification.
