Electrical Technician

The Role:

Seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Installation Engineer to support the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The successful candidate will work across a variety of sites, ensuring all installations meet applicable electrical standards, safety requirements, and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, test, and commission AC and DC fast-charging stations at various locations.
• Carry out electrical wiring, conduit installation, and cable management in accordance with applicable electrical regulations.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, site plans, and electrical wiring diagrams.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults associated with EV charging equipment.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other contractors to ensure efficient site delivery.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on installed charging equipment.
• Follow all site safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain accurate installation records, service reports, and maintenance logs.
• Keep work areas clean, organised, and free from hazards, supporting a strong safety culture.
• Segregate construction waste appropriately and follow environmental and recycling procedures.
• Stay informed about developments in EV charging technologies, electrical standards, and industry best practices.

Essential Requirements:

• Valid electrician's licence or recognised electrical qualification, as required by local regulations.
• At least two years of electrical installation experience.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring practices, relevant codes, and safe working procedures.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, technical documentation, and site plans.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work outdoors and on-site in varying conditions.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience installing or maintaining EV charging infrastructure.
• Familiarity with EV charging equipment from manufacturers such as ABB, Siemens, Delta, or equivalent.
• Understanding of smart charger networking and connectivity.
• Basic knowledge of solar PV systems and battery energy storage integration.
