About the role
HV Certified Technician/Engineer (Solar O&M) on a 12-month fixed-term contract to operate and maintain HV substations, transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and associated electrical systems.
Key responsibilities
- Operate and maintain HV substations, transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and associated electrical systems
- Perform authorised HV switching, isolation, energisation, and restoration activities in accordance with approved procedures
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections, and electrical testing to ensure equipment reliability
- Implement PTW, LOTO, earthing, and electrical safety procedures during maintenance activities
- Coordinate with grid operators and utility personnel for planned outages, fault rectification, and restoration of supply
- Monitor electrical faults, analyse equipment failures, and minimise plant downtime
- Maintain switching logs, maintenance records, inspection reports, and statutory safety documentation
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety regulations and site requirements
