Electrical technician/Supervisor

About the role

Jarash Radiance Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician/Supervisor to join our team in Miri, Sarawak. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, reliability and efficiency of our electrical systems and operations. As Electrical Technician/Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing electrical maintenance, repairs and installations whilst supervising a team of technicians. This position is integral to maintaining our operational excellence and supporting the smooth functioning of our business across all sites.

Key responsibilities

1. Supervising and coordinating a team of electrical technicians on daily tasks, schedules and safety compliance
2. Conducting routine electrical maintenance, inspections and testing of equipment and systems to identify and prevent potential faults
3. Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults, malfunctions and defects in a timely and efficient manner
4. Installing, commissioning and maintaining electrical equipment, wiring systems and control panels in accordance with specifications and safety standards
5. Ensuring all electrical work complies with relevant codes, regulations and company safety standards
6. Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections and spare parts inventory
7. Mentoring and training junior technicians on best practices, safety protocols and technical skills
8. Responding promptly to electrical emergencies and breakdowns to minimise downtime
9. Liaising with management and other departments to communicate project status, timelines and resource requirements
10. Identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost savings in electrical operations

What we're looking for

1. A recognised qualification or certification in electrical engineering or electrical installation from an accredited institution
2. Minimum 5 years' experience working as an electrical technician, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
3. Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, circuitry, wiring standards and industrial electrical equipment
4. Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment, diagnostic tools and maintenance software
5. Strong understanding of electrical safety regulations, building codes and industry best practices
6. Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor staff effectively, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
7. Problem-solving abilities and technical competence in troubleshooting complex electrical issues
8. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety
9. Physical fitness and capability to perform hands-on electrical work in various environments and conditions
10. Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel between work sites as required
11. Experience with commercial or industrial electrical systems is highly desirable
