Full-Time, Part-Time, Casual or Contract Opportunities

Coex Training (RTO #41119) is a National Registered Training Organisation specialising in post-trade electrical training, with particular depth in High Voltage Switching Operations alongside Hazardous Area, Instrumentation and broader electrical programs. We partner with major employers across the mining, energy, infrastructure and manufacturing sectors, working closely with our clients to understand their goals, challenges and workforce needs so we can build stronger, safer, and more skilled teams.

Coex Training is seeking experienced electricians, electrical supervisors, electrical engineers, and electrical technical specialists to join our team as Electrical Trainers and Assessors, delivering specialist post-trade electrical training programs with High Voltage Switching Operations as a particular area of focus.

About the Role

This role is suited to electrical professionals who have strong technical knowledge, practical industry experience, and a genuine interest in developing others. You may come from a High Voltage, engineering, supervisory, commissioning, maintenance, operations, compliance, hazardous area, or instrumentation background.

Based at our Osborne Park training facility, the role also includes opportunities to deliver training in WA regional areas and at client sites where required, possible interstate travel on occasion.

You will deliver and assess practical, industry-focused training programs for electrical workers, supervisors, engineers, technicians, contractors, and industry personnel across a range of specialist areas, including (experience dependant):

  • Certificate IV in Instrumentation and Control
  • WA Electrical Contractors Course, Electrical Nominee Component
  • Restricted Electrical Licence Training
  • Electrical Incident Investigation

The role involves supporting learners to develop safe, compliant, and technically sound work practices across post-trade electrical environments, with High Voltage Switching Operations forming a core and highly valued part of our delivery.

About You

We are looking for professionals who are technically competent, safety-focused, and motivated to share their knowledge with others.

You may have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Electrical engineering, design, compliance or technical support

  • Electrical contracting, electrical nominee or supervisory responsibilities
  • Electrical safety, statutory compliance or operational risk management
  • Electrical incident investigation
  • Competency assessment, mentoring or technical leadership
  • Industrial, mining, utilities, infrastructure, manufacturing or defence environments

This position may suit experienced electricians looking to move into training, electrical engineers seeking a more practical industry-facing role, existing trainers, semi-retired professionals, or technical specialists who want to remain engaged with industry while developing the next generation of electrical workers particularly those with High Voltage switching expertise.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

The following will be highly regarded:

  • Experience or qualifications relevant to High Voltage Switching Operations (isolation, access permits, switching programs)
  • Electrical trade qualification and/or electrical engineering qualification
  • Current or previous electrical licence
  • Electrical supervisory, nominee, engineering, commissioning or technical compliance experience
  • Post-trade electrical industry experience
  • Strong communication, mentoring and presentation skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and practically
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or willingness to complete it

Previous training experience is desirable but not essential. Support will be provided to the right applicant transitioning from industry or engineering into a training role.
